On June 15, 2026, at the age of 73 years, Willie Floyd Jackson, the son of Rachel Dawkins, aka “White Cloud” and “Old School,” passed away at home while surrounded by family.

Willie was born in Alabama, where he lived until he moved to Saginaw, Michigan, to be with his family. He worked in construction for various companies. He loved listening to music, playing chess, watching old western movies, and his favorite show, Star Trek. Willie enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a “Jack of all trades,” a homebody, who was very quiet and laid-back. Willie will be greatly missed by family and friends who loved him dearly.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sisters, Nina and Nikki Dawkins, Saginaw, Michigan; three nieces, Natasha Dawkins and Laterika Roberson, Saginaw, Michigan, Nyeisha Dawkins, Grand Rapids, and one nephew Sheldon Dawkins, Jackson, Michigan; five great-nieces, Kania, JaMyia, Tasia, Journei and Alayah; two great-nephews, Dontrell and Darrell; cousins, William Swain, Greg Cole, Billy Ray Cole, Christine Yates, Dorothy Reynolds, and a very special cousin, James Grant, who was always there, playing chess, taking him out to eat or just visiting. Willie also leaves special friends, Ronnie and Nick Wright, Raymond “Goldie” Wilson, Gerald Adams, Anthony Brown, and his bonus brother, Milton Jones.

Willie was preceded in death by his mother, Rachel Dawkins; grandmother, Mary Jackson; stepfather, Aubrey Dan Dawkins, and many other family and friends.
