Deacon William David Harris, Sr., Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, departed this life on December 11, 2025, at his residence in Frankenmuth, MIichigan.

William D. Harris Sr. was born August 16, 1931, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to David and Annie Bell Lee. William was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1951 to 1953. He later relocated to Saginaw, MIichigan, in 1972, to raise his beautiful family. He worked for the Saginaw Nodular Iron plant for many years. William was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he was ordained as a Deacon and served in that capacity for many years. He later joined Christ Fellowship Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher for numerous years. Years later, he set his roots at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Otis Washington.

William was a family man and truly loved the Lord. He loved singing and praying. His favorite song was “Have you got Good Religion Certainly Lord.”

William D. Harris leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife of 60 year, Lozella M. Harris; 4 sons and 2 daughters; Calvin (Felicia) Harris, Vincent (Vectra) Harris, William (Myisha) Harris, Quentin Harris, Marlene (Charles) Wallace, Marletha (Kennedy) Barnes; 22 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren; 4 brothers-in-law, James Voltz, Leon (Marcellena) Voltz, Alonzo (Denise) Voltz, and Travis Sears; 1 sister-in-law, Belinda Voltz;  and many nieces and nephews.

William D. Harris was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Bell Lee; daughter, Carolyn Johnson; brothers, Alfonzo Lee and Willie James Harris; sisters, Beaulah Mae Billing and Mary Frances Love; aunt, I'Ola Mae Temple; brothers-in-law, Daniel Voltz, Jr., and Ivory D. Voltz; mother and father-in-law, Deacon Daniel  Sr. and (Julia) Voltz; longtime friend, Jim Holden; and role model/mentor, John Williams.

William D. Harris was a good and faithful servant. “Your work here is done. Come home and rest. You fought a good fight, kept the faith, and the VICTORY is won.”
