Warner Humphrey, Jr. "TJ"

Mr. Warner Humphrey Jr., known to most as “TJ,” but known to some as "Cadillac," his motorcycle club name, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Sunday, June 21, 2026, surrounded by his two sisters and family friend, Carolyn Southward. Warner was born on October 23, 1955, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Warner and Helen Rosetta Humphrey.

Warner’s heart was as big as the earth. He truly loved his family, especially his nephews. He was a straight shooter and would let you know how he felt about everything. He loved all music genres, especially Usher and Michael Jackson. When we would take him to his cancer treatments, he would always have a playlist of artists ready to tell the treatment center who he wanted the hospital staff to play.

TJ rode his bicycle everywhere, and he was also a member of the Soul Survivors Motorcycle Club. There was no location too far for him. He lived independently from the time our mother, the late Helen Rosetta Humphrey, passed away until his first cancer diagnosis in 2025. At that time, he moved in with our sister, Warnella Humphrey-Wright, and her late husband, Ulysses Wright.

Warner was loved by many. When we needed help, friends stepped up in exceptional ways, from his personal care to playing games, preparing meals, or to simply keep him company.

Warner leaves to cherish his memory two sisters, Lillian Davis and Warnella Humphrey-Wright; six nephews, Antoine M. (Helen) Davis Sr., Sylvester L. Davis, Dante D. Davis, Terrance L. Humphrey Sr., Corey D. Humphrey, and Tory T. Humphrey Sr.; two nieces, Phyllis McDaniel and Janeen Weems; sixteen great-nieces; ten great-nephews; five great-great-nieces; three great-great-nephews; brother-in-law, Sylvester (Diana) Davis; special cousins, Bruce, Stephanie, and Cassandra McDonald; and his special friend, Glenda (Chocolate Cupcake) Mathis.

Warner was preceded in death by his parents, Warner and Helen Rosetta Humphrey; grandparents, James and Willie Mae Brown; two brothers, Lionel Howell and Edward Humphrey; two aunts, Dorothy Mallard and Anna (John) McDonald; one niece, Michelle Howell-Ross, and his brother-in-law Ulysses Wright..

The family would like to express a special, heartfelt thank you to Carolyn Southward and Angela Beavers, who spent weeks giving up their time and room to take care of our brother.
