Tyla Kilbourne

Ms. Tyla Jonsea Kilbourne passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Henry Ford Hospital in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Age 23 years. Tyla was born December 14, 2002, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Felicia LaShone Kilbourne and Gilmer Ray Buford, and stepmother Angelica Taybron.

Tyla enjoyed spending time with family. She loved to pamper herself by getting her hair and nails done. She enjoyed going out of town to visit loved ones and listening to music.

Tyla leaves to cherish her memory one daughter and one son Kamora Kilbourne and Ja’Shir Cassillo; her parents Felicia Lashone Kilbourne and Gilmer Ray Buford, and stepmother, Angelica Taybron; grandmother Vanessa Smith; great grandparents, Juanita and John Kilbourne; two step sisters, Tashonda and Brittnay Payne; three aunts, Kaniesha Robertson, Johntoya Smith, and Sanea Escamilla; two uncles, John Smith III, and Blake Smith; a host of cousins including special cousins whom she loved dearly, Tanesha Taybron, Kendalyn McCulloh, Paris McCulloh, Kenneth McCulloh, Amari and Jalah Smith; godmother, Tiffany Reed; many other relatives and friends including special friends Shalunda Clark and Tiara Brewer.

Tyla was preceded in death by her grandfather, John Henry Smith, Jr., and her aunt Johntoya Smith.
