Thomas Shane

Mr. Thomas Jerome Shane was born September 19, 1952, in Greenfield, Tennessee. The son of Annabelle Shane. He passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 73 years.

Thomas graduated from Greenfield High School in 1969. He worked as a custodian at MSU, where he retired from. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf, and spending time with his family. His favorite time of year was football season when he would root on the MSU Spartans and Detroit Lions. He was a very fun, loving, and outgoing person. He had the biggest heart and made sure no one could need anything. His joy and love would spread to everyone as soon as he walked into a room.

He leaves to cherish his memory children Shanna Kemp, Nehemiah Shane, Joshua Shane, Jessica Ross, and Ashley Ross; grandchildren, Alec Kemp, Alexa Kemp, Nyaija Nason, Cameron Andrews, Braylen Andrews, Nala Cabrera, Francisco Cabrera Jr., Riley Shane, Kennedy Shane, Kyrie Shane, Daryon Melton, and Avayah Melton; great grandchildren, AliceBell Phillips, Ilyana Shane, and Jah’aidan Milligan; sisters, Sylvia Irvine, Rita Shane, Glenda Shane, Wilahemenia Martin, and Jamie Farris; brother, Johnathan Shane; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his very special niece Baby Joyce Coble.

Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Annabelle Shane; grandson, Aiden Kemp; sister, Beverly Allen; and Tanya Shane.
