Mrs. Tammy Decarlo Watson went from labor to reward on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 59 years old. She was born Saturday, September 18, 1965, in Detroit, Michigan, to Wallace and Weeda Mae Walker.

Tammy attended Warren Ave Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit where she accepted Christ. Tammy was a student of the Detroit Public Schools and graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1983. After high school she played league softball in Detroit. She went on to attend Delta College in Bay County, Michigan, where she received her AA degree, then she attended Wayne State University receiving her BS degree in 1989, finally getting her master’s degree of Social Work from Michigan State University in 2000.

Tammy went on to work for the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services. Tammy was a children’s services supervisor. She worked in Clinton and Eaton County. She also worked for Ele’s Place part-time, where she provided adult grief counseling.

Some of Tammy’s interests were floral design, gardening, shopping (she LOVED jewelry), reading (being part of a book club) and traveling the country. She enjoyed gospel, R&B and contemporary jazz music. She was a fan of football and MSU sports. Tammy was committed to her church where she volunteered often.

Tammy married Frederick Eugene Watson on Saturday, June 29, 1996, and mourned his passing on Friday, September 7, 2001.

Tammy leaves in God’s care her sister, Bettina J. (Ethan) Boyd; nephew, Alexander S. (Felicia) Boyd; niece, Yolanda Walker; great nephew, David E. Walker; aunts, Luddie Smith, Annie Mae Pope and Catherine S. Jackson; uncles, Eugene Sherman, King Sherman; mother-in-love, Mary Ruth Watson; sisters-in-love, Mary Dell Moore and Jeaniva Floyd; brothers-in-love, Wardell “Sunny” (S. Faye) Watson and Edward (Deidre) Watson; nieces and nephews, Shameka (David), Scott, Dounesha, Daniel (Kamaria), Brandon, Whitney (Trell), Etoiya, DaPriest (Courtney), Danielle (LaDale), Joshua, Preston, VaShawn, Angelica; many great nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Tammy was proceeded in death by her husband, Frederick Eugene Watson; mother, Weeda Mae Walker, and sister and brother-in-love, Deborah (Paul) McClendon.

Tammy had many friends that she treasured dearly. She was a hard worker and loved life at the same time. There aren’t enough words to say about her. Tammy, Tammy, Tammy…She will be missed by all, but her legacy will live on.

Her family is requesting donations to Ele's Place in lieu of flowers.
