TaMara L. Wheaton

Ms. TaMara L. Wheaton passed away peacefully at her home in Lansing, Michigan, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the age of 65. She was born on February 26, 1961, to James and Elizabeth "Liz" Wheaton and was the youngest of four children.

TaMara worked as an assistant for the local school district and proudly sold Avon for many years. She was a faithful member of Liberty Church in Grand Ledge, Michigan.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved coloring, putting together puzzles, baking, and spending time playing her favorite video game, Call of Duty: Ghosts, affectionately known as her "Shoot 'em Up" game. She also enjoyed cartoons, movies, and television shows. TaMara took great pride in caring for her flowers and working in her yard. Above all, she loved the color yellow—if she could have chosen, everything around her would have been yellow.

TaMara leaves to cherish her memory her children, Delphon "DJ" Wheaton, James Newton, and Crystal Taylor; her grandson, Tyler Wheaton; her sister, Sandra "Sandy" Wheaton; her brothers, Steve Wheaton and Randy Wheaton; three nieces; one nephew; and many other loving relatives and friends. She will also be fondly remembered by her special friends, David and Cindy, her next-door neighbor, Allen, and Berta from Liberty Church. Her beloved 13-year-old Shih Tzu, who brought her so much comfort and companionship, is now lovingly cared for by her daughter, Crystal.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to David and his wife, Berta, and to the entire Liberty Church family for their kindness, love, and support during this time.
