Steve Darnell Canty

Mr. Steve Darnell Canty was born February 4, 1961, in Saginaw, Michigan. He was the son of Sarah Ruth Canty and the late Joseph Leo Canty. Steve was the second eldest of six siblings. He was preceded in death by Timothy Young (Brother) and Joseph Canty (Father).

Steve graduated from Buena Vista High School where he was passionate about singing and dancing. He enjoyed performing in various talent shows throughout Saginaw County. Growing up, he was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he loved singing with the young adult choir.

After high school, he joined the United States Navy and later returned to Saginaw, Michigan. Steve was free-spirited, enjoyed a good time, and loved being around family.

On March 2, 2024, he peacefully transitioned. He leaves to cherish his memory Sarah Canty (Mother), Maurice Simeon Faries (Son), Joseph Canty (Brother), Stacy Hill (Sister), Reginald Robinson (Brother), Sonya Robinson Baker (Sister), Maurice Simeon Faries Jr. (Grandson), Ma’ryah Faries (Granddaughter), Malaysia Faries (Granddaughter), Topaz Canty (Niece), Sidney Hill (Niece), and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be a private ceremony for family.
