Sandra Marie Broyles

Sandra “Sandy” Broyles, age 79, of DeWitt, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 23, 1946, to Joyce and Gene Watson, Sandy’s life was one filled with devotion, kindness, and a strength that touched all who knew her. At a young age, she was lovingly guided and raised by her uncle, Bill McCarty, who became the father figure she cherished deeply.

Sandy shared 55 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Gary Broyles. Together they built a life full of laughter, perseverance, and love. They raised three sons—Shane (Melanie), Jason, and Matthew (April)—each of whom she adored unconditionally. Sandy found immense joy in her role as a mother, but her heart grew even fuller with the arrival of her grandchildren: Taylor (Cameron), Stacey, and Jacob, and later her great-grandchildren: Vincent, Morgan, and PJ. She loved each of them uniquely, always making time and space in her heart for their individual needs, dreams, and moments.

A steadfast presence in the Lansing bowling community, Sandy dedicated many years to her work at Pro Bowl and later Royal Scott. Her organizational skill, warm spirit, and unwavering support of league secretaries and bowlers alike left a lasting impact on hundreds—if not thousands—of people throughout the years. She helped keep the leagues running smoothly and made every player feel like family. In her earlier years, Sandy also enjoyed going on many fun-filled bowling tournament trips with her close girlfriends—trips filled with laughter, competition, and memories that lasted a lifetime.

Sandy was also a caring and watchful sister. She grew up close to her siblings Jim (Sharon), John (Sue), and Wanda (Willie), and never stopped looking out for them. Though separated by distance, she held a deep and constant love for her sisters Jeannie (Noah), Pam, Sheri (Jerry) and Kim (Paul) in California. She was deeply loved by her many cousins and cherished every moment spent with her nieces and nephews—always showing up with laughter, encouragement, and open arms. To them, she was more than family—she was a source of strength, warmth, and unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joyce and Bill McCarty, Gene Watson, and her brother John Watson. Their memories lived on in her heart, and now, she joins them in peace.

Sandy Broyles will be remembered for her strength, her steadfast love, and the way she made everyone feel seen and valued. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched—with a hug, a laugh, or simply a steady hand when it was needed most.
