Roosevelt Abraham Sr.

Mr. Roosevelt Abraham Sr. passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 at St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center. Age 80 years. He was born January 28, 1933 in Marengo County, Alabama to Theodore Roosevelt and Henrietta Abraham.
Roosevelt lived in Sanford, Alabama for most of his life. He was a member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church in McKinley, Alabama. After relocating to Saginaw, Michigan he was employed at General Motors Delphi Automotive. He retired in 2001 after over 30 years of faithful service. Roosevelt was recently employed at First Ward Community Center. He was all about keeping our land and water clean. Roosevelt loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and family gatherings. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Eddie Jean Abraham; five daughters, Gloria Wells, Henrietta Billings, Brenda Sanders, Dashandra Thomas, Geraldine Nelson; four sons, Roosevelt Abraham Jr., Darrick and Terry Abraham, Dexter Givan; five stepchildren, Annette Moore, Arnesha (Anthony) Essex, Charles (Heidi) Hatter, Carol (Reggie) Simmons, Allaina (Gary); one god-daughter, Karen Rogers; thirty-one grandchildren including a special grand-daughter, Crystal Abraham Parker; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Eula Mae Molette; several nieces including his special nieces, Beatrice Woods, Bessie Andrews, Mary Blevins, Mary Gramble, Patsy Wallace and Beverly Dillard; several nephews including his special nephews, Jimmy Solomon, Willie James Solomon, Larry Solomon, Dennis Solomon and Alphonso Abraham; mother-in-law, Sadie Vance; thirteen brothers-in-law; twelve sisters-in-law; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Nathaniel Young, Patricia Ladd, Oliver Torrence, Jessie Jones Tee, Michael Jacobs, JC Williams, Rufus and Kim, Bobbie Toole, Norris Brown and many other friends who loved him dearly.
Roosevelt was preceded in death by his parents, Henrietta and Theodore Abraham, Katie Solomon, Bet Lou and Robert Lee Abraham.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of St. Marys Medical Center Trauma ICU, Dr. Ansari and friends who offered their love and support during our time of need.
