Mr. Robert Leon Gordon, known by all as “Leon”, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 69 years. He was the son of Reverend Robert and Denotra Gordon, born in Sacramento, California on Monday, January 14, 1957.

Leon was raised to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Leon did attend a variety of churches around Lansing area. He was a graduate of J.W. Sexton High School and enjoyed playing on the football and wrestling teams at Sexton High.

Leon was retired from General Motors and very much enjoyed the retired life of riding his motorcycle with his buddies, traveling the world with relatives, cooking BBQ and he made the best tasting BBQ sauce ever, shopping-buying the best, congregating with family, he really enjoyed researching family heritage roots-locating long lost family to reunite with them, buying and smoking very expensive fat cigars was his niche at cigars lounges. He was one of the many family leaders who would debate you if you didn’t agree with his choice. Strong minded brother that always stood his ground whether you liked his choice or not. He loved reuniting with family at reunions and showed much support and love to reunite with the family. He was a cousin that would call you out and pick on you (in a fun way). Always showing family support and love when needed.

Leon leaves to cherish his memories, 2 daughters, Amika Gordon of Lansing, Michigan and Alisha Gordon-Benjamin of Indianapolis, Indiana; son, Deloren of Manistee, Michigan; Grandchildren, DeLaurea Gordon, Jasmine Gordon, Keshawn Benjamin, Anthony Romphs, Jamir Benjamin, Deloren Gordon, Jr.; 3 brothers, Ralph Gordon, Kenneth Gordon of Sacramento, California, and Steven Gordon of Lansing Michigan; sister, Marilan Gordon of Toomsuba, Mississippi; nieces, Zanobia, Regina Mia, and Angela; nephews: Trimaine, Kenneth Gordon, Jr., and Antrione Embry; many cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Gordon and his parents.

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live. In this moment of sorrow, we ask for strength. Grant us the courage to face the days ahead, the grace to remember with love, and the peace that surpasses all understanding. May the memory of Leon be a blessing and a comfort to us all. Revelation 21:4
