Ricky Louis Baber

Mr. Ricky Louis Baber passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at his residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 63 years. He was born January 24, 1961, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Bertha Baber and James Donald.

Ricky was a graduate of Saginaw High School, Class of 1979. He retired from HealthSource Saginaw after 18 years of service. Back in the day, you could find him bartending at Chet’s Bar. He was known by some as “Pretty Ricky” and “Slick Rick,” but by his mother as "Ricky Louis.”

Ricky enjoyed barbecuing, spending time with family and friends, listening to music, dancing, and watching Westerns, his favorite being Gunsmoke. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Ricky leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 24 years, Shirley Baber, Saginaw, Michigan; father, James (Ann) Donald, Saginaw, Michigan; children, Rico Baber Sr., Derrick West, Tajma Hibbler all of Saginaw, Michigan, and De’Shawn Grace of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Rashod and Ricky Pickett Jr., Ayreana Buford, Ayden Tullos, De’Meah and Demetrius Stinson II, R’Mani and Rico Baber Jr., Isa and Ishmail Stacy, D’Nadis Simpson, Amari and Kamarion Hibbler, and Charles Comier III; great-grandchildren, River Pickett, London Long, and Elle Hibbler; brothers, Anthony (Carolyn) Baber Sr., George (Valencia) Cavanaugh Jr. of Hutto, Texas, James (Tiffany), Sam, and Derrick Donald, Victor and Edward (Kimberly) Ellsworth; sisters, Trina Donald and Jeanette (Rodney) Johnson; daughter-in-law, Alexandria Pickett; aunt, Annie Babers; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Odessa Hibbler; brothers-in-law, Havand (Ray Ann Howard) and David (Lillian) Hibbler; special cousin, Leon (Brenda) Pritchett; special friend, Johnnie Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
