Randolph Taylor

August 27, 1948 — September 18, 2025

Saginaw

Randolph Taylor was born August 27th, 1948, in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee to Curley James and Lily Pearl Taylor.

Randolph lived in Saginaw, MI, where he graduated from Saginaw High School in 1966. He went on to serve his country in the US Army where he was ranked as an E4.

Randolph loved his entire family, especially his wife “Pearl;” he always made sure she was good if not better than good. He had a love for music; and he was ALWAYS known as the life of the party.

Randolph was a HUGE and I mean a HUGE sports fanatic. He loved all sports; he converted all of us into sports enthusiasts as well. If you had the opportunity to be on Jeopardy or Who Wants to be a Millionaire Randolph was your guy to call about SPORTS. When you needed to travel Randolph was the only one to call as he was a walking Rand McNally, he could get you across the country without a map or GPS. Popi had an extremely competitive spirit. He taught us to play Spades, Dominoes, and Scrabble, not only did he teach us to play he whooped on us too.

“Popi,” as affectionately named by his oldest grandson Wally, was proud of and nicknamed all his Grandchildren from birth. They will all deeply miss his funny stories, watching sports, and life advice he gave them; they all knew when Popi summoned, he had something important to say, he called them around to say his farewells from his deathbed, and he let them know he loved them. We cannot leave out Pinky, Pink for those that did not know was Popi’s fur baby she was his comfort and peace. Popi, Pops, or Mr. Randolph was a father figure or Unk to his kids and grandchildren’s friends. Anyone that knew Popi knew he taught Snoop Dogg EVERYTHING he knows.

He leaves to cherish his beautiful wife Mattie Pearl Taylor in Saginaw, Michigan, and three daughters, Ebony Taylor of Saginaw, MI; Tammy Dallas-Simko (Ron) of Charlotte, Michigan and Margie Dallas of Saginaw, Michigan.

His awesome grandchildren Walter (Skate) Frazier of Saginaw, MI, Amber (Whoppy Choppy) Dallas, of Westland, MI, Darrian (Big D) West, Stevii (Weevi) Dallas-Coleman, of Lansing, MI, Louis (LAD) Dallas of Westland, MI, Madicyn (Madimat) Coleman, Adrian (Toot) Erby and Joiy (Bay City) Coleman of Saginaw, MI.

He leaves fond memories of his six sisters Denise (Terry), Triplett Bridgeport, MI, Bernadine McDuffy, and Kimberly (Vincent) Bond; his three brothers Curley Taylor Jr., Fred (Rita) Taylor, and Michael Taylor all of Saginaw, Michigan.

He leaves great memories with his in-laws James (Betty) Mason of Beaumont, CA, Preitus Mitchner, Charles (Dale) Mitchner, William (Helena) Badger, Deb Lawson, Cheryl Lynn Badger, of Saginaw, MI, Elliott (Celeste) Badger of Meridian, MS, and Horace Badger of Tempe, AZ.

He leaves great memories with his Aunts Sadie Reynolds of Detroit, MI, and Bettie Mason of Bradford, PA.

He leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curley & Lily Taylor, grandparents, Harry & Mary Frierson, parents-in-law James & Margie Badger, son, Louis Dallas, sisters, Barbara Keller, Yvonne Lambert, & Dawn Taylor. Uncles, Harry, Napoleon, Kenneth, William, and James Frierson. In-laws Cynthia Taylor, Garfield Lawson, Dorothy Mitchner, and Evelina Washington.
