Patrick Glenn Phifer

December 31, 1962 — May 3, 2025

Lansing

Mr. Patrick Glenn Phifer “Pat” transitioned to his Heavenly home on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan. He was born on December 31, 1962, in Lansing, to his loving parents, Fred, Jr. and Dolores Phifer, Jr.

Pat spent his life in Lansing, where he attended school and graduated from J.W. Sexton High School. Over the years, he held various jobs, including positions at the Schwinn Bike Shop and Quicki Car Wash.

Early in life, Patrick accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. This decision set him on a path of compassion and generosity. Helping others became a lifelong passion.

He later became the proud owner of Patrick’s Lawn Care, where no job was too big or too small. Pat’s dedication and attention to detail ensured every lawn looked immaculate, with pristine flowers and perfectly trimmed hedges. He also painted houses on the side, and his strong work ethic was truly a gift from God.

Pat found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, camping, motocross, and, above all, spending time with his children. Family meant the world to him, and he was often found enjoying a game of Bidwiz with his siblings.

Known for his contagious smile and infectious laugh, Pat had a special way of lighting up any room. He was a true outdoorsman—a “man’s man”—who braved rain, sleet, snow, and even injuries like broken ankles or a pinched nerve, never allowing anything to keep him from working outside.

Pat was known for several signature phrases that captured his spirit and charm. If you called him, he’d answer with, “What up tho?” If you asked how he was doing, he’d respond, “I think I can.” If you sped past him on the street, you’d hear him say, “Drive it like it’s yours!” When leaving a message, he’d end with, “Holla black!” And if someone ever doubted him, he’d confidently reply, “I got this!”

Pat leaves to cherish his memory his children: son, Patrick Phifer Jr., and daughter, Aliyah Parks; his sisters, Deborah Scott, Donna Fields, Roxanne Phifer, Patrice Lauderdale, Yolanda (Hubert) Harden, and Tyneshia Phifer; his brother, Jay T. Phifer; six nieces; six nephews; aunts, Barbara Roberts, Thelma Carter, Denise Harris, and Pricilla Stokes; uncle, Derek Harris; and many other beloved family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Jr. and Dolores Phifer; sister, Freddie Phifer; grandparents, Fred and Savannah Phifer and Jay T. and Dora Harris; aunt, Lavinia McPeak; and uncles, Elmer Phifer and Columbus Phifer.
