Pastor Patricia Christine Hart was born on Tuesday, May 7, 1946, in Batesville, Arkansas, to the late Ruth Irene McCoy and Albert McCoy. On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, she peacefully entered into eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and service. Age 80 years old.

Patricia received her education in Arkansas, graduating from Ethel O. Miller High School. She continued her studies at Arkansas Baptist College and Lansing Community College. Her desire to serve God and others led her to complete pastoral training through Mount Hope Church and earn certification through the International Fellowship of Chaplains.

In 1967, Patricia relocated to Lansing, Michigan, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and community. She began a distinguished career with General Motors, faithfully serving for 30 years before retiring.

A devoted woman of God, Patricia served as a Chaplain with the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, offering prayer, guidance, and comfort to individuals and families during difficult moments. She was also a faithful member of Union Missionary Baptist Church for more than 30 years, serving as a Sunday School teacher and evangelist.

In January 2007, God placed a vision in her heart to establish Church Without Walls 24/7 Restoration Ministry. Through this ministry, Patricia carried the Gospel beyond the church walls into nursing homes, correctional facilities, neighborhoods, and communities throughout the region. She fed the hungry, prayed for the brokenhearted, encouraged the discouraged, and demonstrated Christ’s love wherever she went.

Throughout her life, she also had the joy of serving as a mother figure to many children she encountered and helped nurture along the way, including Bobby Dunlap, Michael (Cherelyn) Dunlap, Todd Dunlap, Melissa Dunlap, and Emerlisa (Eric) Jones, as well as her godson, Jerrod Huggins, and spiritual son, Todd Woolworth.

Patricia’s life was a beautiful reflection of God’s grace. Her legacy of love, service, prayer, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Patricia leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Helen McCoy-Graham and Cynthia McCoy; her beloved friends who were like sisters, Joyce Huggins and Gloria Crenshaw Brown; nieces, Alissa McCoy, Tomeika Graham, Andrea (Michael) Blevins, and Chelsea Carroll; nephews, Damien McCoy and Nicholas Zivic; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends whose lives were forever touched by her kindness and unwavering faith.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Irene McCoy and Albert McCoy, Sr; sisters, Betty McCoy, Carolyn McCoy, and Dana McCoy; brothers, James McCoy, Albert “Beaver” McCoy, Jr. and Ronald “Ronnie” McCoy;niece, Vanessa McCoy; and nephews, Ishmail (aka Joanthan) Haqq and Reginald McCoy.
