In Loving Memory of Patricia A. Gill

October 11, 1953 – September 5, 2026

Patricia A. Gill, age 72, was born on October 11, 1953, in Eudora, Arkansas, to Alberta Dyer and James Wells, Sr., both of whom preceded her in death. She grew up in Eudora, where she attended Eudora High School and began a life that would ultimately touch the hearts of countless family members, friends, and spiritual brothers and sisters.

On August 19, 1971, Patricia married the love of her life, Clyde D. Gill. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to love, commitment, friendship, and endurance. Patricia and Clyde shared 55 years of marriage and 57 years of life together, building a family and creating a lifetime of memories side by side.

In 1976, Patricia moved from Arkansas to Saginaw, Michigan, with her husband and daughter, beginning a new chapter of her adult life. Saginaw became home, and it was there that Patricia continued building the family, friendships, and spiritual relationships she treasured so deeply.

Patricia was the loving mother of Romona R. Gill, Nyssha A. Pike, Kaeileah Bullock, and Clyde D. Gill II, all of Saginaw, Michigan. Her beloved son, Clyde D. Gill II, preceded her in death.

During the late 1970s through the mid-1980s, Patricia worked at St. Rita's School, where she became known and appreciated as the school's acclaimed baker. She took tremendous pride in her work and found joy in using her talents to serve others.

Yet, of all her accomplishments, the one Patricia treasured most was her relationship with Jehovah God. In 1980, she symbolized her dedication to Jehovah through baptism as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her faith became a defining part of her life. For many years, Patricia worked side by side with her spiritual brothers and sisters, sharing the good news of God's Kingdom with all who were willing to listen. Her love for Jehovah was not simply something she spoke about—it was reflected in the way she lived, loved, gave, and cared for others.

Patricia loved to cook, laugh, and spend time with the people she loved. She had a big, beautiful, contagious smile that could brighten a room. She found happiness working with her hands in both her vegetable and flower gardens, nurturing the things she planted with the same patience and care she so freely gave to people.

Perhaps one of Patricia's greatest gifts was her heart for others. She was always willing to help someone who reached out to her. She was a champion for the underdog and for those who felt unloved. When someone was hurting, struggling, overlooked, or simply needed to know that they mattered, Patricia knew how to give them a warm place to land. That kindness was not reserved only for family or close friends; it was simply part of who she was.

Patricia leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Clyde D. Gill; her daughters, Romona R. Gill, Nyssha A. Pike, and Kaeileah Bullock, all of Saginaw, Michigan; her loving siblings, Katherine Brown and Eddie Dyer of Little Rock, Arkansas; Billy Ray Dyer and Albert Dyer of Blytheville, Arkansas; and Carrie Faye Hughes of Saginaw, Michigan; as well as her special niece, Blanche Akis of Eudora, Arkansas.

Patricia shared an especially close bond with her baby sister, Carrie Faye Hughes. Carrie moved to Saginaw and remained close by Patricia's side throughout the years. Their relationship was strengthened not only by the love they shared as sisters, but also by the precious bond of their shared faith.

Patricia was deeply loved by her many nieces and nephews—far too many to mention individually, but never too many for Patricia to hold close to her heart. She spoke of them often and with great love, and each held a special place in her heart.

Patricia also leaves behind two treasured friends whose relationships with her became an important part of her life. Her cherished friend, Shirley Thomas of Saginaw, Michigan, became much more than a friend—she was like a sister to Patricia. Their special bond beautifully reflected the words, “There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

Patricia also leaves behind her best friend, Alma Ruffin of Saginaw, Michigan. What began as an unexpected friendship grew into a deep and treasured bond. Among the things that brought Patricia and Alma together was their shared love for children. Their friendship became an important part of Patricia's life and another beautiful example of how some of life's most meaningful relationships can begin when we least expect them.

Patricia's extended spiritual family was also precious to her. She leaves behind a congregation filled with loved ones who worshipped alongside her, worked beside her, laughed with her, encouraged her, and shared many treasured moments throughout the years.

Patricia's life cannot be measured simply by the number of years she lived, but by the love she gave during those years. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the faith she faithfully practiced, the people she helped, the gardens she tended, the meals she lovingly prepared, the laughter she shared, and the countless people who were made to feel seen, welcomed, and loved because Patricia Gill opened her heart to them.

She gave people a warm place to land—and those who loved her will carry that warmth with them always.
