Narie Lowery (Lansing)

December 10, 1957 — February 11, 2024

Ms. Narie Joe Lowery answered God’s call and transitioned from her earthly tabernacle to dwell in the presence of the Lord forever on Sunday, February 11, 2024, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 66 years old. She was born in Greenville, Alabama on Tuesday, December 10, 1957, to Verdie and Julia Lowey.

Narie and her family eventually moved to Lansing, Michigan, where she grew up and attended J. W. Sexton High School. She grew up in a loving home with her parents and siblings. She worked as a waitress at the Garage (now known as Gregory’s) and also worked at the bank. Narie gave her life to the Lord at a young age. She was a member at Morning Star Church of God in Christ, and she loved the Lord.

Narie was a giving and caring person with a heart of gold, and she loved her family. She enjoyed spending time and cooking big meals with and for them. She adored her grandchildren and was an active part of their lives. She was always providing a warm meal or even a place to stay for those in need. She loved to shop, and the price never mattered to her. Hudson’s was one of the many stores she loved. She also enjoyed music, dancing and she knew how to throw a party.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Cordie Johnson, Erica Kelly, Kristin Johnson (Darell Pointer), and Courtney Lowery; bonus sons, Shamino and Mark Jernigan, and Deon Johnson; grandchildren, Jahzell Wells, Fazon Flanegin, Justin Brown, Gia Johnson, Kaniya Johnson, Za’mya Johnson, Zya Johnson, D’yior Pointer, Daylen Pointer, Soláe Martin, Jamariyan Kelly and Emoni Kelly; great-grandchildren: J’san Brown and Kyler Pavona; siblings: Randy (Jackie) Johnson, Vergie Pearl, Rick (Debra) Lowery, Josie (Larry) Lee and sister-in-law, Judy Lowery; god-daughters: Julia Pearl and Si’aynah Barber; two aunts, many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends including special friends, Linda Jones, Debarah Carter, Johnny Cox and Patricia Dampier.
