Minelva Diane Allen

March 24, 1951 — September 16, 2023

On Saturday, September 16th, 2023, Minelva Diane Allen, made her transition at the age of 72 years. Minel, as she was called by most of her family and close friends, was born to Robert and Marjorie McAdams on March 24, 1951, in Saginaw, Michigan where she lived the majority of her life.

Minelva was the 3rd oldest of six. She attended Houghton Elementary School and Central Junior High before graduating as a proud Trojan from Saginaw High School, Class of ‘69. She then attended Fisk University but later graduated from Central Michigan University. Minelva loved spending time with her grandkids, taking them to the library but most of all attending church.

In 1970 Minel and the love of her life, Jamie, were married. They became parents to four cherished sons, Jamele (Tanisha), Fontaine, Amondo (Michelle), and Jamie (Latoya). Minelva was employed at Michigan Bell before going to work for Consumers Energy for several years. She enjoyed talking about the Lord and wouldn’t let you leave without saying a prayer for you. Minelva showed nothing but love to whoever crossed her path. Her pure heart loved her family as she did the Lord; you’d feel that love every encounter with her. Minelva attended Jacob’s Ladder ministries with her husband, Jamie. She loved attending church and Bible Study, but her passion was to spread the Word of God and to show that she loved you as God does.

She leaves a plethora of grandchildren; seven great-grands; four loving sons and their spouses; she is grieved by siblings, Robert (Muneer Mahmoud) McAdams, Joy Moore, Ronald (Sharon) McAdams, and Brian (Vickie) McAdams; nine nieces; two nephews; and a score of cousins including a special cousin-sister, Teeny Williams.

Minelva was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Marjorie McAdams; husband, James “Jamie” Allen; brother, David McAdams, brother-in-law, Ronald Allen; grandson, Jakobe Washington.
