Mildred Mendenhall

Mildred Renay Mendenhall entered this world on February 8, 1960, under the protective guidance and care of her parents Johnnie Jr. and Rosa Mendenhall in Camden, Alabama. She relocated to Lansing, Michigan with her family in 1963 and attended schools in the Lansing and Waverly School Districts. She graduated from Waverly High School Class of 1978, "GO WARRIORS!"

She maintained employment at Ponderosa Steak House and Kinkos.

Mildred attended several churches in the Lansing area which included Trinity Lutheran Church under the leadership of Rev. J. Huener, Mount Zion Missionary under the leadership of Rev. J.E. Graves, World Harvest Outreach Church under the leadership of Pastor Brent W. Hale, and Hope House Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Rosie Griffith.

Though she was faced with various health challenges Mildred knew that her strength came from Almighty God and that He would sustain her.

Mildred was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.

On Tuesday September 1, 2026, God received His daughter Mildred into His loving arms and eternal home after completing her assignment here on earth. She was surrounded by a host of loved ones who loved her dearly.

Leaving to cherish her memory and to continue her legacy is her mother Rosa Mendenhall of Lansing; sons, LaChance and Chauncy Mendenhall both of Lansing; granddaughter, Naliah Renay Mendenhall of Lansing; siblings, Brenda Beatty, Nathaniel Mendenhall, Johnnie Roger Mendenhall, Angela (Damon) Wallace of Lansing, and Larry (Sonya Hughes) Wilson of Georgia; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mildred was preceded in death by her beloved father, Johnnie Mendenhall Jr.; brother, Rickey Wilson; grandparents, Burns Rogers Sr. & Ruthetta Rogers and Johnnie Sr. & Ella Mae Mendenhall.

Special thanks and appreciation to the staff at UM Health Sparrow, McLaren Hospital, Pace Assisted Care, and MediLodge of Lansing for your compassion and care for Mildred over the years.

RIH! Our Beloved Mildred Renay Mendenhall – WELL DONE!

Always Treasured! Never Forgotten! Forever Loved!

There will be another day.

Heaven called another citizen back to her eternal place. A place that once was far off but now she can embrace. The place where there is no darkness but only light. The place where Jesus prepared for her and forever, she will live out Gods promises in total delight.
