Mary King

Ms. Mary King passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025, at her residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 78 years. Mary Ellen King was born on September 25th, 1947, to Alma Alexander King and Julius Harry King in Alexandria, Louisiana.

The family moved to Saginaw, Michigan, in the summer of 1965. Mary was a graduate of Saginaw High School and worked at Saginaw General Hospital, later being employed at Second National Bank. During the winter of 1977, Mary welcomed a baby boy to the world, Oliver Marvin King, whom she loved dearly and did her absolute best to create a memorable childhood for. Mary had another son who preceded her in death.

Living to cherish Mary's memory are her son Oliver Marvin (Ariana) King, and grandson, Oliver Maurice King, as well as one yet to be born grandson, all of Chicago, IL; sisters, Anneace, whom she lived with over 50 years, Irma Jean; brothers, Mackenzie Roy, Frederick Douglass, and Robert Earl(Pasong; a host of nieces and nephews.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by both parents, Alma Alexander King and Julius Harry King; brothers, Julius Harry Jr., Joseph Perry, Isaac, and James Calvin; one sister, Alma June; two in-law siblings, James C. Cooper and Everly Roberts King.

We want to give a special thanks to her brother, Mack, for all of his help during her last days, and her sister, Anneace, for 50 years of generosity and unwavering support over the past 50 years. Mary's legacy will live on and be remembered by her son and grandchildren.
