Margarettia Kindall (Lansing)

January 21, 1958 — April 8, 2025

Ms. Margarettia Verna Kindall, affectionately known to all as Tina, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 67 years. Margarettia was born January 21, 1958, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to Phillip and Catherine (Bethany) Kindall.

Tina was a lifelong resident of Lansing, Michigan. She was educated through the Lansing School District and attended Lansing Everett High School.

Tina gave her life to Christ at Union Missionary Baptist Church, where she attended as a child into her young adult years. Prior to her death, Tina was a faithful member of New Hope Church of God in Christ.

Tina held various jobs including Aide for the Legislative Service Bureau. However, the job that was most meaningful to her was caring for her great-grandchildren.

Tina was a fashionista. She loved to dress. Tina was never seen out and about without her jeans pressed, nails done, and lashes on. She took special care to make sure her skin was flawless. She also loved being around family. Anytime there was a family gathering, Tina was in the midst to ensure the menu was coordinated and the decorations were hung accordingly.

The day Tina closed her eyes on this earth for the last time, God gave her wings and she ascended to heaven to be with her parents.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Shemicka Johnson and Toni B. Sharonda (James) Nixon, both of Lansing, Michigan; son, Stephen D. Johnson of Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, Carmesha Dumas of Atlanta, Georgia, Stephan Johnson of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Emoni Porter of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mariah N. Mitchell, Stephen D. Johnson, Jr., Shaquille Taylor, Sydney Johnson, Savion Johson, Shamar Johnson, and special granddaughter, Laila Williams, all of Lansing, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Aniyah Morrell, Kashauntee Adams, Stephen DeAnthony Johnson, III, Tyree Johnson, Olivia B.
