Mrs. Margaret E. Jackson was born January 29, 1938, to William and Mildred Price in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She relocated to Saginaw, Michigan, in 1956, where she met the love of her life, Willie U. Jackson, and they were married in 1959. Together, they were blessed with two beautiful daughters.
Margaret loved her family; she always anticipated family gatherings. Her last family gathering was Thanksgiving 2025. Margaret was a faithful member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she would walk every Sunday when able.
Margaret earned a Master of Arts in Education with 30 additional graduate credit hours. She began her career in education as a first-grade teacher at a Catholic school before joining Saginaw Public Schools in 1975. She served more than 25 years as a dedicated educator, retiring in June 2000 as a Special Education Resource Teacher, where she supported students with learning disabilities and emotional impairments.
Margaret was a highly qualified educator with endorsements in Elementary Education (K-8), Special Education (Emotional Impairment, K-8), English (K-9), Social Studies (K-9), Learning Disabilities, and Social Science.
Margaret was a master gardener and an active member of many clubs and organizations. She was also an alumna of the Link Charter Member of the Tri-City (Michigan) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated since August 1980. She was also affiliated with Prince Hall Eastern Star, where she was a past Worthy Matron, Bethel Chapel #23, and past Princess Captain Tri-City Guild #7 Heroines of Templar Crusades.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Alfred (Chanta) Price; sisters, Mildred Valley and Margaret Anne (Aldrain, Jr) King of Glenn Heights, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Willie U. Jackson; daughters Alfreda and Willietta; brothers William Price, Freeman Price, and William Miller; and sisters Imagene Davis, Ann Darby, Juanita Jones, and Wanda Brooks.
Special prayers and special mention to her best friend, adventure partner, and ride-or-die sister, Mildred Valley, with whom she shared amazing love and journeys together; great friend Bertha Gatlin; and her special nephew, Mark Jackson.
The family would like to express special thanks to Amara Hospice Care, especially Kiesha Hines and Dorthia Whitting, for their compassionate care and support.
