Mr. Lonnie Lee Pratt passed away Friday, December 5, 2025, at Heart-to-Heart Hospice in Lansing, Michigan. Age 73 years. He was born on Wednesday, October 22, 1952, to Lonnie Pratt and Ethel B. Clark in Birmingham, Alabama.
Shortly after Lonnie’s birth, the family moved to Flint, Michigan, then to Lansing Michigan where Lonnie spent the majority of his life. Lonnie spent much of his formative years on the west side of Lansing growing up on Kalamazoo Street. He was a proud Big Red from Sexton High School Class of 1970. Lonnie was known for being an articulate smooth talker, and an impeccable dresser. He was a connoisseur of fine Italian shoes. Lonnie was a gifted artist, and a very skilled trained Chef. Lonnie was a sous chef for the Marriott Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and various resorts in Traverse City, Michigan and Marquette, Michigan., And for a brief period, an architect for the State of Michigan. Lonnie’s love of family was unshakable; he was always an encourager and often talked about his family with great pride.
Lonnie will be remembered most for his love for family, his zeal for life and his brilliant mind.
He leaves to cherish his legacy of love his brothers, Michael Larkins and Frank (Rhoda) Woods of Grand Blanc, Michigan; aunts, Leola Watts and Cleola Crawford; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Lonnie was preceded in death by father, Lonnie Pratt; mother, Ethel B. Clark; grandfather, Henry A.D. Clark; grandmother, Susie Mae Clark; sisters, Shirley A. Pratt and Patricia A. Pratt.
