LeAndre Obie John Chapman,Sr. was born January 16, 1982, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing MI, mother: Gloveta Chapman and father: Leonard Ferguson.
LeAndre was a really happy baby, he kept a smile on his mother’s face. He always used to try to dance. He and his mom would both laugh whenever he did that twirl with his hips. His mother took pride in making sure he was a clean baby. Cleanliness was instilled in him, and he carried this quality over into his adult life. He loved to dress and “Dress to Impress” was what he did. Cole Haan shoes were a necessity for him.
LeAndre was raised in church from a baby to an adult. He and his mom were faithful in attendance at New St. Paul C.O.G.I.C. under the Leadership of Pastor Dale Gregory.
LeAndre’s hobbies were basketball, football, swimming and coaching various sports. He loved the outdoors, trying different kinds of foods, “Old School” music and slow R & B music. His favorite artist was R. Kelly. He loved the Philadelphia Eagles, and betting on them, win or lose. His brain was like an encyclopedia when it came to sports. Everyone wanted to know what he was betting.
LeAndre had a big heart, he was a loving, compassionate, kind and nice man. Ready to do whatever he could for others, especially his children. He was always present for his children; attending every event and outing that they had.
LeAndre was a fighter as well as a lover. He just wanted to be loved the same way he loved you.
LeAndre received his education in the Lansing School District. He was vibrant and very smart in school. He didn’t have any problem catching on really quick and putting a spin on it. He had the ability to memorize numbers and was a Mathematician. He also attended Lansing Community College.
LeAndre worked as a CDL Truck Driver beginning in 2014. His last employment was at Rockwell Medical.
LeAndre moved to Dallas, Texas five years ago. After living in Texas two and a half years, he met the love of his life: his fiancee’ : Shareefah Clarke, “His Sunshine”.
