LaVerne Marie Irby

Mrs. LaVerne Marie Irby peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Lansing, Michigan.  Age 52 years. She was born on Sunday, November 18, 1973, to Richard and Janet Cummings in Battle Creek, Michigan.

LaVerne's family was the very center of her life. She was a devoted and loving mother to her two sons, Markee Irby and Darrian (Halle) Irby. She was especially proud of her cherished granddaughter, Jubilee Lavern Joy Irby, who brought immense joy to heart.

LaVerne will be cherished and remembered by her sons, granddaughter, and parents. She is also survived by her two sisters, Tracey Cummings and Michelle Cummings; husband, Johnny; aunts, Judy (David) Freeman, Sharon (Larry) Bridges, and Brenda (Clifton) Brown; uncles, Greg Williams and Scottie (Marvis) Williams; devoted nieces, Alexia Bowser and India Bowser; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, John & Fannie Cummings and Henry & Betty Williams; uncles Terry Cummings, Allen Williams, Dorrian Williams, and Randy Williams; and nephew, Joseph Bowser II.

LaVerne’s love, strength and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
