Latrice Angela Slade

May 18, 1981 — February 2, 2023

Ms. Latrice Angela Slade, born May 18, 1981, beloved daughter of Edith Ann Slade and David Lee Watts, Sr., was suddenly called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at the age of 41 years. She had been battling breast cancer since 2019. She remained strong and kept her faith that she was going to “beat this” and have a great testimony. She fought a good fight for 3-1/2 years.

Latrice was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Saginaw Public Schools and later, Delta College, majoring in Dental Hygiene. Latrice was a member of St. Luke CME Church and was employed at Hemlock Semiconductor as a supervisor from September 2008 – September 2020 when she became ill. Latrice was a very sweet young lady with a heart of gold, loved her family; most of all, she loved and cherished her mother. They did everything together from shopping, doctors’ appointments, and paying bills, to name a few. Latrice loved music, dancing, singing, eating, spending time with family and friends, movie night, playing cards, exercising, pampering her skin, and eating at Applebee’s and Olive Garden. She was full of life and joy. Latrice was a beautiful soul inside and out with her beautiful smile and pearly white teeth. Latrice’s presence and the imprint that she left on our hearts outweigh the time she was here with us. She held her lifestyle down and knew that God was the head of her life, and she was the CEO of her body. Latrice remained a positive force and held onto the Word of God until her last breath.

She leaves to cherish loving memories her parents, Edith Ann Slade and David Lee Watts, Sr.; grandparents, Reverend Azalee (Jake) Landrum, Saginaw, Michigan; five sisters, Christy (Timothy), Daniell, Sandy, Lakeva, all of Saginaw, Michigan, and Talahnie, Virginia Beach; three brothers, Terrance Smith, Saginaw, Michigan, Keith Franklin, North Carolina, and David Watts, Jr., New Jersey; two nieces, R’Asia and Ke’Mya Robinson, both of Saginaw; three great-nieces, La’Mya Stinger, A’lana Slade-Martin, and Ne’Vaeh Stinger; three nephews, Robert Stinger, who was like a brother, Terrance “TJ” Smith, Jr., Stan Zhe Johnson, Saginaw; one great-nephew, Kyrie Holloday, Saginaw, Michigan; five aunts, Julia Carter, Terry (Troy) Strohman, Andrea (Darin) Moore, Atlanta, Georgia; great-aunt, Josephine Stokes, Saginaw; five uncles, James Slade, Saginaw, Bruce Watts, San Antonio, Texas, Micheal and Cliff Watts, Lakewood, New Jersey, Isaac Watts, Montgomery, Alabama; a host of cousins; many other relatives and friends including special friend, Shavell Shivers, Saginaw; (sister/cousins) Jada Blanchard, and Kanika Slade, Atlanta, Georgia; special cousin, Johnita Pratt, goddaughters, Chanell Johnson and Heaven Watley, all of Saginaw, Michigan; godsister, Trina Smith, Dallas, Texas; and godbrother, Daryl Riley, Saginaw, Michigan. The love we have for her will always be unconditional “until we meet again.”

Latrice was preceded in death by one brother, Antoine Lavall Slade; grandfather, Alton Slade; great-grandmother, Julia Wilson; cousin, Vontrell Watson; and her godparents, Reverend and Mrs. Collins Gray.
