LaNeal McCord

Mrs. LaNeal McCord, one of God’s Angels, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Avista Nursing and Rehab Center. Age 82 years. LaNeal was born December 26, 1943, in Marianna, Arkansas, to Wilmon Martin and stepdad, Willie Davis.

LaNeal moved to Chicago, Illinois, as a little girl. She attended Chicago Public Schools. She joined the United Christian Methodist Church. LaNeal was a hard worker. She retired in 2008 from Sloan Value after over 30 years of service.

LaNeal loved to eat and go out to dinner. She enjoyed sitting on the front porch. LaNeal was very outspoken and said exactly what was on her mind, with a few choice words. She loved to laugh and joke. LaNeal moved to Saginaw, Michigan, in 2019 after she became ill. She will be truly missed.

LaNeal leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Phyllis Davis; brothers, Donald and Richard Davis, and Fredrick Adams; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.

LaNeal was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence McCord; mother, Wilmon Martin; stepfather, Willie Davis; sisters, Bertina, Theresa, and Sandra Davis; brothers, Paul Wirrick, Sr., William, and Jerome Davis.
