Ms. Kortnie Norina Litfield (formerly of Saginaw, MI), a faithful daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 while visiting her mother in Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of 38.
"Kort", as she was affectionately known by family and friends, was born to Marshall & Beverly A. Litfield in Saginaw, Michigan on March 31, 1985. She attended Saginaw High School where she was a proud "Trojan" and graduated with the class of 2003. She continued her education by attending Central Michigan University, where she graduated in 2009. Most recently she resided in Columbia, South Carolina where she was employed for the RX Redefined company where she served as a billing specialist.
Kortnie loved God and since a young girl she attended many churches where she recently was a member of The Decision Church under the leadership of Pastor Andreas Parsley-Williams in Cornelius, North Carolina. Since high school she loved to use her gift to sing in local choirs including the Pastor Ronnie Bryant & Prayed Up and Sterling Brooks & Connection where she sung on both live recordings.
A down-to-earth lover of people with an indomitable spirit, to know her was to love her. Kortine loved to cook, travel, read, and live her best life. She was vibrant, outgoing, the life of the party, and her infectious laugh and smile would uplift anyone. Kortine had a special care for "At Risk Youth", and she would do anything to encourage and use her resources to give them a better tomorrow.
She leaves to cherish her beloved memory her mother and father, Beverly A. and Marshall Litfield; sister, Miracle Little-Bacon; brother, Marshall Phillip Litfield I, many nieces and nephews whom is too numerous to mention because everyone that had children she was an aunt to; aunts, John-Ethel Lewis, Joanne Silvia, Helen Moore, Donna Williams, and Marcia Hadden Williams; uncles, Alonzo Silvia, Phillip Ray Silvia, Larry Washington, Jerry Washington, and Dennis Washington; numerous cousins including a special cousin, Glendora "GG" Love; many friends including special dearest friends, Latoya Marie Gaines, Jaren Mungo, Bryen-MarQui Bennett-Smith, Demond Tate, Kenzell Webb, Pastor Benjamin Smith and her loving Saginaw High School Class of 2003; a host of godparents including, Gerald (Nancy) Ziozios.
The family would like to express special thanks to Hope Funeral Home in Fayetteville, GA, Ivan E. Phillips and the Paradise Funeral Chapel, Pastor Benjamin Smith and the Gethsamene Baptist Church, Pastor Lafayette Simpson and the Bethlehem Baptist Church, Minister Sterling Brooks and the music community, Saginaw High School Class of 2003, and the many people and businesses that contributed in many ways in making this memorial event a great success.
