Mrs. Kenyata Rayquel Dunn-Bowes, also known by “Bae,” “ Yata”, “Nee Nee,” and “Yatti,” went home to be with the Lord on November 24, 2025. She was born to Billie Ray Sherman and Macy Dunn and raised by her mother and stepfather, James Fort, Jr.
Kenyata accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Zion MB Church under the leadership of Rev. Willie McMillon, Sr. She attended Saginaw Public Schools. She graduated from Saginaw High School in 1994. Kenyata was an affectionate, loving person who enjoyed showing love and praising God.
In 2013, Kenyata married Jermaine Bowes. They enjoyed taking trips, going out to eat at her favorite restaurants (Red Lobster and Ponderosa) with her family. She also enjoyed playing bingo, doing arts & crafts, singing, and dancing with the crew at Avista. But her greatest joy and twinkle in her eyes were her husband, children, parents, family, and friends, and her beautiful grandchildren. When you visited with her, she would always say “Oh God be something, be something, oh you so cute", and then she would give you a big smile.
