Ms. Kathleen "Kathy" Joann Powers was born March 25, 1956, in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. The daughter of Richard William Sr. and Betty Ann Louise (Sundermann) Powers.

Kathy Powers’ spirit was greeted by the ancestors and her Lord and Savior on July 13, 2025. She was born on March 25, 1956, in Eaton Rapids, MI—the oldest child and daughter of Richard William Sr. and Betty Ann Louise (Sundermann) Powers. Kathy was a resident of Lansing, MI, and retired from K-Mart on Cedar Street after serving as a Pharmacy Technician and Sales Associate for many years, before the store closed. She also studied dance at Lansing Community College, worked as a server at Omar’s, and as a waitress and bartender at Pro-Bowl, as well as an Administrative Assistant for Robbins Accounting & Tax Service. Kathy loved reading crime novels, biographies, and history. She also enjoyed watching historical documentaries—especially those about the royal families of Europe and Christ. She loved The Golden Girls, Murder She Wrote, Downton Abbey, and BBC. Kathy was an avid fan of Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, and Jackie O—with a collection of memorabilia in their likeness. During a good time or a chill time, Kathy enjoyed listening to Luther Vandross, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, especially Sade, or any R&B from the 1960s through the 1980s. Kathy LOVED Coca-Cola and a Breast Snack from Munchies. She relished gardening and eating fresh tomatoes. Kathy’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews; she loved spoiling them with toys, snacks, and other goodies whenever possible.

She leaves to cherish her memory son, Dr. Anthony Jerome (Kierra) Stone Jr.,PhD; grandchildren, Mykeal Anthony Khalil (Katrina) Aikens, Mariah Kiara Elyse Aikens, Anthony Jerome Stone III, and Ashlyn Amya Marie Stone; great grandchildren, Katana Antonia Aikens; sisters, Sharon Ann (Paul) Robbins, Kelly Dianna Byron, and half-sister Mary Lynn (Steve) Vaive; brothers, Richard (Barbara) W.
