Ms. Ka’Mora Alex’Andrea Cannon-DePriest passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 14 years. She was born Monday, June 27, 2011, in Lansing, Michigan. The daughter of Ebony Cannon and Steve DePriest.

Ka’Mora, affectionately known as, “Pootie” by her family and “Kayy” by her friends, was a student at Bath High School, where she attended her first Homecoming Dance. She was a brave, kind, and loving young lady that enjoyed everything from eating her favorite foods, going to her favorite restaurant, “Tangy Crab”, making & selling bracelets, and creating many crafts. Ka’Mora had a smile that could light up any room – a laugh that was so contagious and the softest voice to melt any heart. She loved spending time with family and friends. She would often spend time helping her grandma at the food bank when she was no longer able to go to school. When Ka’Mora was in a low place mentally, her uncle “Bubba” gifted her with Prah’Spher. Ka’Mora and Prah’Spher were inseparable – she loved her baby. Ka’Mora also loved beaches, sand, and she always wanted to travel to a beach or to find roller coasters. She will be deeply missed by all.

Ka’Mora leaves to cherish her memory parents, Ebony Cannon and Steve DePriest; grandparents, Tracee Husband and Rosa Brown; sisters, Ka’Mya Cannon-DePriest and K’Lynn Cannon DePriest; brother, Tae’Shoun Cannon-DePriest; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; special relatives & friends, Uncle Theodore “Bubba” Holmes, cousin La’Tavious “Buddy” Fairley, and her support person, confidant, & sister, K’Lynn Danielle.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Don’L Cannon; great-grandparents, AJ & Lucille Husband; Aunt Irene McKay; Uncle Eldorado Brown; and our baby Prah’Spher Moon Cannon.

The family would like to express special thanks to Bath Schools, Yoga State, Leo’s Lodge, and Lansing P&DC (post office).
