Ms. June M. Jennings, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend, and neighbor, passed away peacefully May 23, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends. June was born June 20, 1935, in Osceola, Arkansas, to the late Sam and Laura (Simpson) Jennings. June moved to Michigan as a child and was cared for and nurtured by her sister Maddie, along with her mom, Laura.

June graduated from Saginaw High School in 1953, after which she began her career with the Social Security Administration and retired in 1996.

June was intelligent and witty. She enjoyed reading. She had a passion for travelling and a love for people. She touched the hearts of many.

June was a dedicated Jehovah’s Witness, symbolizing her dedication on April 11, 1964. She attended the South Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She loved teaching and preaching to her family, friends, neighbors, and all who would listen about the “Good News of the Kingdom.” The wisdom and knowledge gained from her studies of God’s Word, the Bible, and her love for the ministry encouraged her to pioneer. As a Pioneer, June devoted 70 hours monthly ministering to and studying with many whom she aided into the truth. She enjoyed sharing in the ministry with her sisters, Maddie, Inez, and Bobbie. June studied with and instilled in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren Bible Truths. June and Bobbie would talk until wee hours about the hope in God’s promises, especially about the “resurrection hope” (Acts 24:15). June was a woman of unyielding faith. She clung to this hope, fought the battle, and Jehovah gave the victory through his son Jesus Christ.

June will be sadly missed by her family and friends, especially her daughter, Belinda McCray and her only living sister, Bobbie S. Hardy, both of Saginaw, Michigan; her granddaughters; Latasha (Harvey) McCray-Heath, Atlanta, Georgia; Katoya McCray, and Daniele Taylor, Saginaw, Michigan; grandsons, Carl McCray Jr. and Brandon McCray both of Saginaw, Michigan, Jayon Anderson, Las Vegas, Nevada; great grandchildren, Carlisha McCray, Carniesha McCray, Nyea McCray, Carl McCray III, Carmel McCray, Da’Hailey Wesby, Nia Wesby, Afton Jordan Jr., Aftavion Jordan, Affion Jordan, all of Saginaw, Michigan and Dajhia Parham, Kennesaw, Georgia; special friends, Rita Brown and Jan Gallagher, Saginaw, Michigan; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

June was predeceased by her daughter, Benita C. Anderson; two sisters, Maddie Jennings and Inez Isom; four brothers, Roosevelt Jennings, George Jennings, Walter Jennings, and Robert Jennings; granddaughter, Fannie Mae McCray Jones; special nieces, Carol Rodgers, Bennie Sanders, and Ruby Baker; a host of other nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
