Mr. John Phillip Kelly passed away Friday, May 9, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 60 years. John was born June 11, 1964, in Lansing, Michigan to parents, Vandy Charlotte Kelly and Charles Frederick Kelly.
Born and raised in Lansing, Michigan, John attended Everett High School before building a life through hard work in the trades—working in construction, painting, roofing, and as an auto mechanic.
John’s greatest joy came from his family. His son, John Jr., and daughter, Kaylee, were the lights of his life. To say he was proud of them would be an understatement. When they blessed him with grandchildren, that pride and love only grew deeper.
John had a gift for lifting spirits—his jokes and warm smile could brighten any room, even when he was quietly enduring pain of his own. He was known for his big heart, always ready to help others and never hesitating to give the shirt off his back to someone in need.
John leaves to cherish his memory, son John Kelly, Jr; daughter, Kaylee Suchecki; grandchildren, Oaklyn and Coltyn Suchecki; mother, Vandy Kelly; and older brother, Ken Kelly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Kelly; and older sister, Katy Kelly.
