John August Fritz

John August Fritz was born on October 19, 1988, in Lansing, Michigan, to Charles Fritz Jr. and Cindy J. Fritz. John passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at his home in Lansing, Michigan. Age 37 years. 

John was a lifelong resident of Lansing. He graduated from Lansing Eastern High School and later worked for Sodexo/Magic at Sexton High School. John enjoyed reading and writing, often sharing his unique perspective with others. He was enchanted by all things fantasy and magic and immersed himself in movies, television, books, music, and games centered around those themes. He was also a proud and staunch supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community.

He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Charles and Cindy Fritz; his brother, Nathan; five aunts; four uncles; and his beloved family pets, Hunter and Ozzy, who miss him dearly.

The family extends special thanks to The Auntie Elves, who have done so much for the Fritz family. They have supported us through this shattering reality and lovingly put together a wonderful tribute in John’s honor. Our endless gratitude is yours.
