Mr. Jimmie L. Works passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 57 years. He was born February 6, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan to Jimmie Sr. (Mattie Lou) Works.
Jimmie turned his life over to Christ and was a member of Temple of Faith Apostolic Church. He was a graduate of Saginaw High School. He retired General Motors and was a union member of Local 668. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing baskeball and watching soap operas on television.
He is survived by three daughters, LaKisha Parker, Lyvera Smith, Jennifer McQueen; four sons, Jimmie (Arkeasha) Parker, Terrance (Crystal) Parker, Thomas L. (Tasha) Works, Coreyon Works; 14 grandchildren; mother, Mattie Works; five sisters, Natalie (Delbert) Harris, Valerie (Terry) Noble, Debra (Jake) Campbell, Annie (Damus) Gardner, Kathleen (Stedford) Samuels; three brothers, Clinton Works, Charles Works, Terry Works; mother-in-law, Vera Farrow; three sisters-in- law, Shirley (Jerry) Prince, Annie (Sherman) Byrd, Carmen (Dave) Whittington; two brothers-in-law, Curtis Farrow, James Bland; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Sheila Stinson and Willie Catholic.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Works; son, Napoleon Works and father, Jimmie Works Sr.
