Jerry Earl

Mr. Jerry Earl transitioned from his life here on earth to his Heavenly Home on February 17, 2026, at the age of 74 years old. He was born February 27, 1951, in Saginaw, Michigan. The son of Dorothy Marie Bass and Winston Earl.

Jerry graduated from Saginaw High School then joined the United States Army. He served 2 years in the 11th cavalry. Following his time in the army, he worked at Montgomery Wards and met the love of his life, Thelma Holbert. They married June 18, 1994, together for 35 years. Jerry also worked at Pratt & Whitney, where he retired from in 2025. Jerry was a devoted husband and was an inspiration to his family. He was very loving and always had a kind word and smile to let you know he was alright. He enjoyed going to the park, fishing, playing pool, boxing, being outdoors, gardening, and watching Western movies with his wife. He had so many happy days and years spending time with his family and grandkids. “Papa we love you”. “Darling Sweetie, love you always, rest in peace”.

He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Thelma Louise Earl; daughters, Tracy Ashford, Cloretha Simon Baston, Rocquell (Sam) Earl, LaShonda (Var Ray) Miller; sons, Jerry R. (Sarah) Earl and Clifford (Talonya) Simon; stepchildren, Marvin L. Holbert and Norvell Brodie; grandchildren, Tiesha Baston, Frederick Baston, Sommer Reif, Clifford Simon Jr., Samuel Reif, Ashley Gray, Shelby Reif, Sidney Reif, Isabella Earl, Izaya H. Earl, Gabriell Osborne, Jerry Earl, Jarvis Ashford, Terrance Ashford, Kelly Ashford, and Ethan Ashford; step grandchildren, Mariah V. Brodie Earl, Latasha J. Brodie Earl, and Lavonte D. Brodie Earl; and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunt Judy Haymon, and many other relatives and friends including special friends, Robert Watson, Calvin Sanders, and Sammy Harris.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy Marie Bass and Winston Earl; grandchild, Marquavis Baston; grandmother, Anna Wright; sister, Barbara Hill; brothers, Ricky Bass, Thomas Calloway Sr., Joseph Bass Jr., and David Bass; and stepson, Anthony Holbert.
