Jerome Houston Sr.

Mr. Jerome (Little) Houston Sr. was born on January 19, 1945, in Gallion, Alabama to Richard and Eliza Houston. He passed away Monday, July 28, 2025, at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 80 years.

Jerome, also known as “Sleepy” or “Lil”, lived in Lansing, Michigan for most of his life. He worked at Motor Wheel for 30 years. He loved and enjoyed fast racing cars and eating. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Jerome leaves to cherish his memory beloved children, Jerome (Melonie) Houston, Jackie Houston, Tyrone Houston, Monica Ethridge; ten grandchildren; many great grandchildren; siblings, Frank Houston, Affie (Joe) Parker, Paralee Balanta, Richard Houston, Eliza (Benny) Houston, and Georgia Crawford; many nieces and nephews; best friends, Wilbert and Buddy; and many other friends and family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Kimbrough-Houston; parents, Richard and Eliza Houston; granddaughter, Tenesia Houston; grandparents; and brothers, Jessie Houston and Rance Houston.
