Jane Quinney was born on Friday, May 13, 1949, in Gallion, Alabama, to her loving parents, John Glass and Erma Bates.
Jane attended George P. Austin High School in Linden, Alabama, and upon graduating, she relocated to Lansing and briefly worked for General Motors. Jane also attended Lansing Community College (LCC). She became a devoted member of Greater Love Apostolic Faith Temple after becoming established in Lansing.
Jane was known for her love of cooking and shopping, but what she cherished most was spending time with her dear friends—Paralee Glass, Louise Walker, and Angie Hill—sharing laughter, memories, and the joy of companionship.
A woman of quiet strength and unwavering faith, Jane faced life’s challenges with grace, courage, and resilience. Her spirit was unbreakable, her heart full of compassion, and her presence a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, Jane peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering friendship.
Jane leaves to cherish her memory, beloved son, Michael Glass (Teri), Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, Brittany Glass, Indianapolis, Indiana, Constance Glass, Alexis Glass, and Precious Glass all of Lansing, Michigan; great-grandchildren, DeQuavion Thompson, and Kehlani Glass; brothers, Clarence Glass, John E. Glass, and Willie Glass; sisters-in-law, Davida Glass and Paralee Glass (Pat); brother-in-law, Johnnie Raby; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; numerous friends; and last but not least her partner of 51 years, Benny Looney.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, John and Erma Glass; sisters, Erma Raby and Fannie M. Robertson.
