Mr. James David Bafford “JB” took his final trip destination heaven bound on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan. He was born on Thursday, January 3, 1974, in Memphis Tennessee, the son of Raymond and Peggy Brown.

At the ripe age of 6 years old, James and his family moved to Lansing, Michigan. He was educated in the Lansing School District and graduated from Everett High School.

James was a member of Pentecostal Outreach Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Elder Larry Trice Sr. He sang in the youth choir and was an active member of the youth department. James rededicated his life to the Lord this year and came home to the Tabernacle of David Church.

James was employed at Red Lobster Restaurant and the State of Michigan. He was adventurous and always willing to seek new horizons. James loved to travel. He traveled forty-eight states in the United States and the country of Mexico. James had a passion for history and would share dates and facts of historical events. He loved Kung Fu, Marvel /DC comic, and western movies. James loved life and was very proud of family. He didn't say “I love you,” his famous word was “LOVE.” That was his complete statement.

James leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Peggy Brown; sister, Andrianne Bafford of Lansing, Michigan, whom he called “Sis”; two brothers, Terrence (Patricia) Bafford of Perth, Australia and Sedric (Cheryl) Bafford of Okemos, Michigan; niece, Savannah Bafford; two nephews, Bryce Bafford and Isaiah Bafford; two aunts, Gracie Bentley-Totty of Swartz Creek, Michigan and Barbara (Tommie) Phillips of Memphis, Tennessee; two uncles, Jerry (Charlene) Bafford of Memphis, Tennessee and Walter (Gayle) Bafford of Dallas, Texas; many cousins, other relatives and friends.

James was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Brown; grandparents, Horace and Nannie Bafford; brother, Tyrain Bafford; and special cousin Bobby Bentley.
