A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE RESCHEDULED  SOON

Heather Christine Hopfinger born July 17, 1991, in Midland, Michigan, daughter of Grace Publow Hopfinger, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at her residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 34 years.

Heather was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Zion Lutheran School in Auburn, Michigan, K-7th grade. Heather loved music, dancing, eating, making jokes about the most serious stuff, laughing at bad times, and making everybody laugh. Heather loved animals, especially her special cats, Ivan and Karl. She loved feeding all the stray cats and wild animals. Heather’s laugh was contagious and her smile lit up the entire city, not just a room. She spent much of her time with her mom, sister, Paige, and her two youngest nephews, Pharoah and Raidyn, doing things like riding motorcycles and bikes, taking walks, and playing whatever made the boys laugh. They called her their “monkey” with much love and affection. Heather had a special affinity for her mama and made sure to call her every day if she wasn't physically with her. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Brailyn Eric Michael Martin; her mother, Grace Publow Hopfinger; three sisters, Paige Hopfinger, Jessica and Sharaina; seven nieces, Morgan, Chloe, Keagan, Makya, Patience, Amaya, and Aubrienna; five nephews, Joshua, Noa, Christian, Pharoah, and Raidyn; one aunt, Shirley Douglass; many other relatives and friends; she also leaves many special friends including Cam "Kilo" Wafer, Miguel Copes, James "Man" Jovar, Jr., Travis "Twin" S., Rio, Blood, Fred, Geno, P., Tae, Quentin, Lucretia, Dannielle, Iesha, Porchia, Tyrus, and T-Mac.

Heather ensured that she would be able to rest in heavenly peace and join those who preceded her in death, Grandma Pat Publow, Grandpa William Publow, Aunt Teresa Schalk, her soulmate and love of her life, Rico Arocha; and dear friend, Johnnie "Mickey" Lee.

The family would like to express special thanks to everyone who donated, called, texted, messaged, and stopped by to visit, Pastor Sir Andre Johnson, and Mary McDonald.
