We are deeply saddened by the passing of Hattie Rae Rhinehart on December 23, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan. She was born on August 22, 1934, to Levi F. Rhinehart and Dinah W. Rhinehart (Strickland).
Hattie attended J.W. Sexton High School and went on to work at General Motors Oldsmobile, where she dedicated many years of service before retiring in 1989.
Outside of work, Hattie enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, and traveling to new places. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, Hattie Rae Rhinehart.
Hattie is survived by her three children, Rudolph “Tino” V. (Ciara M. Hudson) Griffin Jr., Darryl (Kimberly “Kim”) Griffin, and Tisha Y. Griffin. She was a loving grandmother to five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; siblings, Dolores Miller of Houston, Texas and Levi F. Rhinehart Jr. of Lansing, Michigan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her son, Montrello “Monty” Griffin; granddaughter, Danielle Renae Rae Nicholson; parents; sister, Velma Patterson; brother, Gene A. Rhinehart; and sister-in-law Dorothy Mae Walker of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
