Ms. Gladys “Jenett” Cassell-Tinsley, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on March 3, 2026. She was 79 years old. Jenett was born on December 9, 1946, to Smith M. Moore and Gladys (Martin) Moore in Hazlehurst, Mississippi. At the age of seven, she moved to Saginaw, Michigan, where she grew up and spent much of her life.

Jenett was an active member of Truevine Baptist Church. She served on the usher board and participated in various church activities. She attended Saginaw High School during her youth.

Jenett found great joy in activities that brought excitement and laughter. She enjoyed playing bingo and often visited the casino. Dining out and shopping were among her favorite ways to spend time, and she delighted in traveling, especially making memorable trips to Mississippi and New Orleans to be with her family. Jenett was a former member of the “Travel Destination Club” and remained active in “The Saginaw Hollywood Queens,” reflecting her enthusiasm for social gatherings and community involvement. She also loved visiting the beauty shop, where she could relax and catch up with friends, and she would always make you laugh.

Jenett leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Gwendolyn (Bryant) Scott; two sons, Eric Sr. (Lakeshia) Pearson, and Lacrown Kunte’ Pearson; grandchildren, Dilleon, Sentara, Mariah, Anessia, Alanzia, Alexia, Eric Jr., Marcus, Christina, Justice, Gabreriel, and Christopher; a host of great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie (Craig) Williams, Domonique Moore; three brothers, Smith (Barbara) Moore Jr., Edd Freddie Moore, and Glenn (Jerry) Moore; three aunts, Joanne Herring, Margie Turner, and Rev.
