Mr. George Washington Walker Jr. transitioned to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 13, 2026, in Delta Township, Michigan. Age 79 years. He was born Friday, March 22, 1946, in Alma, Michigan. He was the second oldest son of seven children to parents, George Washington Walker Sr. & Sarah Watts.
George accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age and maintained a close relationship with the Lord until his passing. He attended and graduated from Alma High School and lived in Lansing for most of his life. He worked and retired from the City of Lansing as a Parks Supervisor, a job of which he enjoyed immensely being outdoors.
George loved the Lord and spending time reading his Bible and listening to Christian music which gave him immense peace and joy. He also enjoyed—A LOT—spending time in the outdoors, whether it be fishing or his all-time favorite, taking daily walks enjoying nature and its beautiful scenery. He also enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams; the MSU Spartans and the Detroit Lions! Although he was a quiet person by nature, he enjoyed talking with people and he would strike up a conversation with anyone willing to listen.
He is survived by and left to cherish many special memories, his sister, Kathy (Dennis) Duncan; his brothers, William H. Walker, Sr. and Eugene Walker, all of Lansing, Michigan, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Washington Walker Sr. and Sarah J. Watts; and his brothers, Clinton, Gerald and Stanley Walker.
George will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him and had the pleasure of having a conversation with him.
