Mr. George Allen Harris, Jr., passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, at the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 59 years. He was born on Thursday, September 16, 1965, in Rockford, Illinois. The son of Barbara Black-Cummins and George Allen Harris, Sr.
George of Lansing, Michigan, was a devoted husband of 35 years to Undrala White Harris, a proud father to their two daughters, Camille and Raquel, and a loving grandfather to Calia. He was also a cherished son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. A natural leader with a brilliant mind and a heart as big as his smile, George was known for his confidence, commitment, and unwavering faith. He was a God-fearing man whose spirituality guided his actions and uplifted those around him. With a sharp sense of humor and a deep love for history, science fiction — especially Star Trek, and westerns, George could engage anyone in thoughtful conversation or have them laughing in no time. A lover of all types of music, he was a crooner at heart and a graceful slow dancer, often filling the room with song or charm. Handsome and fashion-forward, George had a big personality and a bigger heart. He enjoyed sports and cheered loudest for his teams — Go Blue! Above all, he brought determination to everything he did — especially his work and his role as a husband and father. He often reminded those around him never to say “never,” living proof that strength and faith can move mountains. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lessons that will continue to guide those who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Undrala Harris; two daughters, Raquel Harris and Camille Harris; granddaughter, Calia Horn; mother, Barbara Black (Thomas) Cummins; three sisters, Carissa (Quinton) Roberts, Allyssa Narvaez, and Allesha Morris; brother, Glenn Hicks; from his siblings, he leaves behind four nieces, Cabria Harris, Nova Roberts, Sierra Narvaez and Kennedy Ferguson; nephew, Darius (Brooklyn) Morris; great niece, Harper Jackson, and great nephew, Omar Nasir Saleem; aunts, Lorraine Bradley and Johnnie Mae Black; uncle, Richard (Linda) Black; too many cousins to name; mother-in-law, Lillian White; six sisters-in-law, Selena (Duane) Griffin, Charla White, Sersena White, Melba White, and Lexava (Jerome) Smith, and Leaubra White; four brothers-in-law, Jeff (Sarina) White, Craig White, Charles S.
