Mr. Frederick R. Dalton passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025, at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 73 years. He was born Thursday, August 30, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Willoughby and Florida Dalton.
Frederick lived in Lansing, Michigan with his wife, Candice C. Dalton. He worked at General Motors Corporation for 31 years, was a proud member of UAW Local 652, and retired in 2008. He believed family was of the utmost importance and showed it every chance he could. Frederick raised his two daughters with those same strong family values. He was a hard-working man but always made sure to spend as much time as he could with his wife and daughters and in retirement with his grandchildren. From trips to Muskegon, time at the park, and day trips to Detroit to see extended family and friends. He enjoyed simple pleasures like mowing his lawn with his zero turn and washing his car by hand. Frederick enjoyed shopping. He liked nice things and dressed to the nines because first impressions were important. Frederick loved watching movies; he always knew the ones to watch and recommend. He was a kind and genuine man but never hesitated to tell you how he felt straight up. Although he is gone his presence and influence are still felt. He will truly be missed but his legacy lives on in and with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Candice C. Dalton; daughters, Keasha A. Castillo and Ashley N. Lopez; grandchildren, Josiah R. Dalton, Arianna V. C. Castillo, Gabriella A. Castillo, Hope N. Lopez, Maria E. Lopez, and Guadalupe Castillo; four sisters, Annette Dalton, Carmen Ross, Gretchen Dalton, and Vette Dalton; two brothers, Darryl Dalton and Michael Blackburn; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends Frank and Stella Lud, Bob Dodd, Gary Riley, Howard Ware, Guadalupe Castillo, and Israel Lopez.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vicky Dalton; and Chip Dalton.
The Chain
We little knew that morning, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, You did not go alone, For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide And though we cannot see you, You are always by our side. Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same But as God calls us one by one The chain will link again.
