Duane Frank

Duane Roger Frank (88), passed peacefully at home on October 17, 2025. Born on May 24, 1937, to Oliver and Thelma Frank in Lansing, Michigan. He was a lifelong resident of Lansing and attended Eastern High School, Class of 1955. After graduation, he was employed at Oldsmobile for two years before enlisting in the Marines. Following his 4 years of service, he returned to Oldsmobile to enter the skilled trades program. He worked as a piper-fitter for 42 years, retiring from General Motors in 1997. He was known by many of his work friends as “Gomer”.

Duane married Beverly Mooney in 1962 and just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. They lived in Lansing where they raised their 5 children. He enjoyed all types of fishing, deer hunting and spaghetti westerns. He was a life member of the Capital Area Sportsmen’s League and volunteered many hours calling numbers at its Tuesday night Bingo! He enjoyed annual family vacations at Houghton Lake especially fishing with his father-in-law and family badminton competitions. Every Friday night during football season, he worked ticket sales at Sexton High School and sported some very fashionable blue and gold plaid pants while collecting tickets!

He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Mooney) Frank, three sons Kevin, Kelly, and Scott, and two daughters Salli (Lewis) Pung, and Shelly Frank. He is survived by his grandchildren Elizabeth Pung, Michael (Ashley) Pung and Christian Pung. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Betty Frank, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Thelma, and sister Billie and brother-in-law Kenneth Wregglesworth and brothers Robert and Dale.

Honoring Duane’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. The family encourages you to watch an episode of “Gun Smoke” and have a shot of Crown Royal to honor Duane’s memory or donate to a charity of your choice in his name.
