Mrs. Dorothy Mae Jones Love, a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and sister, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at St. Francis Nursing Home in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 77 years. Dorothy was born in Chicago, Illinois, on November 17, 1948, to Johnnie Jones and Alnettie Williams, the 9th child of 13 siblings.

From the very beginning, Dorothy possessed a warm spirit, gentle heart, and unwavering kindness that touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Dorothy attended Mason High School in Chicago, Illinois. She briefly studied in a nursing program in Saginaw. Dorothy worked various jobs throughout her career, retiring from Luther Manor in 2014 as a housekeeper.

Dorothy gave her life to Christ at an early age in Chicago, at God’s All-Nation COGIC. While there, she met L.B. Love, whom she married later in life. Following in her mom's footsteps, Dorothy moved to Saginaw, Michigan. In 1989, she joined Coleman Temple World Outreach Campus.

Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and church family. Dorothy served with the Kitchen Committee, Mothers' Board, and Usher Board, and was a member of the Intercessory Ministry and a choir member until her health changed. She was outgoing and enjoyed attending family and church events. Dorothy loved God, and she loved praising him even through her pain. She always kept a smile and a good sense of humor.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory her husband, L.B. Love, Chicago, Illinois; one daughter, Angela Love; three sons, Cotez Jones, Moses Jones, and Jeremy Love all of Saginaw, Michigan; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Georgia Newton and Essie Felters, both of Saginaw, Michigan; two brothers Bishop Joseph (Jeannie) Jones and George (Marita) Jones, both of Chicago, Illinois; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; four sisters-in law, and two brothers-in-law; goddaughter, Lawanda Urquhart; many other relatives and friends including two special friends, Mary Clayton and Evelyn Sutton.
