Diana Rockett

May 23, 1959 — August 1, 2025

Saginaw

Diana Lynn Rockett passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at her home in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 66 years. She was born May 23, 1959, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Shirley Williams and Louis Rockett Sr.

Diana, a proud Buena Vista High School graduate of the Class of 1977, was Homecoming Queen and a runner-up for prom Queen. She attended Western Michigan University for two years before embracing her adventurous spirit and love for travel. She especially cherished living in Hawaii, as well as trips to California and Las Vegas with her beloved sister, Shirley Ann. Diana accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, and she was a member of the Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church. Professionally, she was admired for her work ethic and dependability at General Motors and Nexteer Automotive. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren, her son, and her late daughter, Candace, whom she carried in her heart every day. Known as a natural light in every room, Diana was elegant, confident, and unforgettable—always styled, polished, and uplifting those around her. She never dimmed anyone’s light, instead recharging their batteries, and her love, wisdom, and strength will live on in all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish memories her loving mother, Shirley Holmes Williams of Saginaw, Michigan; son, Quincy Thompson (daughter-in-law, Shayla Bowes) of Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Jordan Williams, Mi ‘Angel Williams, Christian Packard, and Marcus Jernigan Jr., all of Saginaw, Michigan; two sisters, Suzette Humphrey, and Kerry (Antwand) White-Turner of Houston, Texas; one brother, Dewrail (Pam) Rockett, New York; nine nieces, Joslyn, Cassia, Precious, Monaye, Myra, Sesanie, Samantha, Domonique, Brooklyn, and Autumn; four nephews, Ben (Narcissi Rockett) Haynes, D’Angelo Rockett, Julian Rockett, and Willis Humphrey Jr; three aunts, Jerry (Glenn) Moore, Liz Holmes, and Geraldine Rockett of Grandview, Missouri; uncle, Darnell Holmes; cousins, Terry Rockett, Latasha Drake, Latrina Waldon, Tony Holmes, Sara Rockett, and Marvin and Renee Richardson of Grandview, Missouri; close friend, Willis Humphrey; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.

Diana was preceded in death by her daughter, Candace Williams; father, Louis Rockett Sr; brother, Louis Rockett Jr; sister, Shirley (Arnold) Booker Rockett; grandparents, Beatrice and Willie Robinson, and Ellsworth and Susie Holmes; companion, Archie Lawrence; uncles, Lee Porter Rockett, Derrick Holmes, Ronald Holmes and Harry Holmes; aunts, Donna, Jackie, Edna, and Beverly Holmes, and Geraldine Robinson.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Staff at Covenant HealthCare Cooper and Mary Free Bed, the local EMT response team, Pastor Joshua M. Daniels and the Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church family, and the Woods family, for their unwavering support, care, and compassion during this difficult time. Your kindness and dedication have brought comfort and strength to our family, and we are deeply grateful for the love and assistance you have shown.
