Dexter V. Fite

Mr. Dexter Vernard Fite passed away on May 30, 2025, at his residence in Saginaw, Michigan. He was born on January 2, 1962, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Willie Lee Fite and Margaret Ann Hodges (Henderson).

Dexter attended Saginaw Public Schools and graduated from Saginaw High School. He was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church and was employed at Bethel AME Church and Saginaw Public Schools as a Custodian. Dexter was a true comedian. He always made everyone laugh; he kept everyone entertained, especially his family. Dexter, a huge sports fan, followed all sports, especially basketball and football. His favorite teams were the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers. Dexter loved to eat; cookies were his favorite. He loved his family and was always there for them when they called. Dexter is greatly missed by family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his four sisters, Paulette A. (Robert) Abrams, Fort Worth, Texas, Eilha Fite, Wendy R. Fite, and Arnetha L. Henderson, all of Saginaw, Michigan; one brother, Ecka T. (Ann Marie) Henderson, Saginaw, Michigan; Dexter also leaves many nieces and nephews, and cousins; one aunt and a very special uncle, Freddie (William “Sonny”) Hodges, Saginaw, Michigan; one sister-in-law, Ann Marie Henderson; one brother-in-law, Robert Abrams; many other relatives and friends including Melissa Fite.

Dexter was preceded in death by his father, Willie Lee Fite; mother, Margaret Henderson; stepfather, Reuben Henderson; grandmother, Mozzelle Fite; grandfather, Dole Fite; and sister, Beverly Hodges.
