Denise Peek

Denise Michelle Peek was born Friday July 13, 1962 to Jodelle V. Peek and Thomas W. Littlejohn in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 63 years.

Denise relocated to Lansing, Michigan with her mother and sisters in her early childhood. She attended Attwood Elementary, Gardner Middle, and graduated from Everett High in the Class of 1980. In the Spring of 1985, she welcomed her only child Ereka Dyane Peek.

Over the years, Denise made a name for herself throughout the community of Lansing, helping many businesses open their doors. She became the Executive Director of the Micro-Enterprise Fund in which she taught classes for over 18 years before the program closed.

Denise went back to school, graduating from Northwood University with her Master’s in Business in 2006 and Southern New Hampshire University with her Bachelor's in Business in 2009.

Denise dedicated her life outside of work to taking care of her mother, Jodelle & her 3 wonderful grandkids.

She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Ereka Peek; grandchildren, Elizah Peek-Jackson, E'keyra Mitchell, and Eme'Ree Mitchell; sisters, Tommie Peek and Tammy Peek; and many friends & loved ones.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents Jodelle V Peek and Thomas Littlejohn and sister, Diane Peek.
